So let’s be straight up; It sucks that you can’t legally marry your partner, according to the law in Australia, if you are a same sex partnership. But…

with defiance and grace we ignore this minor detail, and surge on in the pursuit of a legitimate and meaningful ceremony. So that you may publicly declare your commitment to and love of one another.

To Cecily there are two very different reasons why a couple may desire a commitment ceremony:

You may be a partnership who wish to be married but are restricted legally from doing so.

Or you may be a partnership to whom the legal and cultural definitions and expectations of a conventional marriage are not appealing .

Cecily can treat you like a bride (or a groom) if you want to be one (no matter what your mumma named you). If that don’t speak to you, our approach can be very non-conventional, you can guide Cecily.

Either way Cecily puts an emphasis on

you being true about your feelings,

you having enough effort to put them into words and

you being brave to express them.

All the other stuff is exciting, lovely, funny, touching, meaningful – window dressing.

Cecily relishes the opportunity to support you in constructing your ceremony from scratch. It’s gotta be you on a plate baby – it always comes out better. Cecily tries her darnedest to get in your heads, so that when she glues it all together and smooths on the icing, the result is just so YOU.

Because there is no legal administration required the cost is entirely about the time it takes to create your ceremony. Cecily bases this on it’s length and how much content you wish it to have. As a rough guide you would be looking at approximately $600. This includes:

• Unlimited meetings with Cecily.
• Access to all materials, including rare or unique text, to create your ceremony.
• A rehearsal on site.
• A complete ceremony.
• A fully qualified, equipped, and performance ready celebrant on the big day.
